Educating our community one child at a time.
C.A.R.S.
Kicklighter Academy is an early care and learning center for all children ages 6 weeks through 6 years. The majority of our students are typically developing children. They provide age-appropriate models of play skills and social behavior for our students with disabilities.

Monthly Respite is offered on the second Saturday of each month from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. This service is provided free of charge for children with disabilities. Respite care is a way for Kicklighter to support families with special needs children.

The Chatham Association of Residential Services provides permanent, affordable, hazard-free housing for adults with disabilities in a group home setting or semi-independent apartment complexes. The organization runs two apartment complexes and five group homes. This program has provided housing for more than 100 adults with disabilities over the last 20 years. In addition to providing housing, our dedicated staff offer trainings to residents including budget management, nutrition and other important life skills.
